I think I'd better think it out again, again.

Last time, I was looking at the cost of shipping my chattels halfway around the globe and considering selling them & buying afresh in NZ.

I thought I'd check-in with people who've been emigrated to NZ already, at Move2NZ, and boy am I ever glad I did! The resounding advice was that furniture is very expensive over there and I may not be able to find anything I like.

The upside of this, is the thriving market in secondhand furniture, so when I'm ready to sell my belongings in years to come, over there I will find that easy, and will probably get a close-to-new price for it to boot. Which all sounds a lot better than selling it here in the UK. So, although there's a rumoured IKEA for Auckland, I bet my IKEA imports will arrive first.
